City Of Angels (1998)

This Hollywood remake of Wim Wenders' art-house hit 'Wings of Desire' stars Nicolas Cage as an angel desperate to hang up his wings and join the mortal rank-and-file. His chief object of affection is a distinctly down-to-earth surgeon (Meg Ryan), who needs some convincing that the man she starts falling in love with has sacrificed immortality to be with her.
